Construction of a new SPORTSPLEX has been taking place at the Escola Biblica Crista in Sao Jose.

The Igreja Reformada do Brazil is hosting the 21st meeting of this Puritan Symposium on July 2-6, 2012. The theme for the symposium is “The Church: Pillar and Foundation of the Truth”.

The Holanda family has for several years received financial help in sending their children to a different school than the one they ought to be attending. The area where they live in Recife is not very safe, and the school in that area is very poor, with lots of drug and violence issues.

On a Saturday afternoon in mid-December, Elizonete and a couple of other ladies if the Golden Years project in Imbiribeira (Recife) set up a table on the street to sell the tea towels and rugs they had made in the last several months.

The Mission Aid Brazil workers, the Boersema family, became members of the Igreja Reformada do Brasil, joining one of the congregations in Recife on November 13, 2011.

Kent Dykstra, principal of William of Orange Christian School in Cloverdale, B.C. was the guest speaker at this year’s Reformed Teachers Symposium, which took place in July, 2011 in Sao Jose.

Students in the level 3 and 4 at Guido de Bres Christian school have been going to the public library in Recife on a monthly trip for some time now. The teachers realized that some students were not developing good reading habits, and a love for books.

Eliette is a mother of two children who attend Escola Biblica Crista. Her children are 9 and 5 years old. Remarkably, she went to school with our former Mission Aid worker, Jake Kuik, many years ago.

The annual teacher workshop, organized by Mission Aid Brazil will be held in Sao Jose at the Escola Biblica Crista (EBC) from July 12 -16th, 2011. Kent Dykstra will be the invited guest speaker. He is the current principal of the William of Orange School in Cloverdale BC.

On April 30th, Escola Biblica Crista arranged to have an "all you can eat Macaroni Dinner night".

The Escola Biblica Crista in Sao Jose is intent on expanding to include high school grades, starting at the beginning of the new school year in January 2011.

A teachers’ professional development conference could take place again, by the grace of God, from July 13 – 16, 2010, at the Aldeia Training Center in Recife. The keynote speaker at this year’s conference was Otto Bouwman, principal of Cornerstone Christian School in Lynden, Washington, USA. The conference was attended by about 55 enthusiastic teachers from schools in Sao Jose/Maragogi, Maceio, Unai, Cabo Frio, João Pessoa, and Recife.
